Setup
The cellist on the right plays with an unmodified cello. Both sound and image are recorded. When the cellist on the left presses a pedal, this recording (audio and video) is transfered to the tapebow. The tapebow is connected to a preamplifier which also digitizes the bow signal and transfers this information to the computer. The computer replays the audio and uses the position of the bow to synchronize playback of the video. All audio and video played by the cellist on the left is recorded and sampled live, no prerecorded material is used whatsoever. |
